ABOUT US

The National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC)

A nonprofit trade association that was established in 1969 to address the needs and concerns of minority contractors.

We are the only nonprofit organization and contractors association group that focuses exclusively on contractors' trades. We use our resources to connect members with major corporate partners and set a new standard of people-first mentality.

Membership is open to people of all races and ethnic backgrounds, but our goal focuses on construction industry concerns common to African-Americans, Asian-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Native Americans, and women.

OUR HISTORY

Celebrating 50+ Years of Dedicated Service

Founded in Oakland, California in 1969 by Ray Dones and Joseph Debro

The National Association of Minority Contractors (NAMC) is the oldest minority construction trade association in the United States. Members include more than 50 Hall of Fame members and Legacy Contractor Builders and a combined annual project capacity of over a billion dollars nationally. The association represents the interests of millions of skilled minority workers across the country. Through a network of local chapters and in collaboration with strategic and corporate partnerships, NAMC assists members with building capacity by providing access to opportunity, advocacy, and contractor development training.

Since 1969, the National Association of Minority Contractors (Northern CA Chapter) has focused on the needs and concerns of Minority Contractors in the Bay Area. By dedicating our mission to the unique needs of minority contractors, we have been able to create a nationwide organization throughout the past 53 years. We have learned from our history and are committed to continuing our cause.

Through training, legislative initiatives, and partnerships, NAMC-NC seeks to increase construction capacity and economic inclusion, serving as a key resource for minority businesses in the construction industry.
